SmallGiant Music is a child-focused music school. We offer various services, including group music lessons, individual music sessions, and instrumental rentals. We teach Piano, Guitar, and Ukulele music lessons for all ages.
Music appeals to people of all ages, especially the young. We are committed to providing music education that improves the quality of life for the child in the long run. Accounting for the specific capabilities of each age group, we achieve musical excellence by nurturing our student’s musical intuition through quality instrumental lessons.
Keeping music sessions enjoyable, we challenge and guide our students as they express creativity through the world of sound and music. We strive to help every child progress in their own unique ways!
“Creativity is best thought of as a mode of motivation, rather than an outcome of instruction”
Driven by Creativity – Creative Teaching and Learning is at the heart of SmallGiant Music. As every child has different learning needs, our team at SGM tailors every lesson to each child, ensuring that they make progress and build on their strengths. Through our Creative Teaching and Learning, students will experience the joy that music brings while making progress on their chosen instrument. SGM is committed to guide your child – developing key musical and life skills to achieve success in their own unique ways!
Their Creativity
Creative thinking and learning are at the heart of our music education for your child. At SmallGiant Music, we join our students in discovering their musical interests and drive. We inspire their imagination and guide them through the world of music. Creativity is a form of motivation instead of an outcome of instruction.
Their Motivation
Fueled by creativity, self-determination, and intrinsic motivation is what we are committed to instilling in your child’s music education. Music sessions will set out to fulfil the three basic psychological needs – competency, relatedness and autonomy. (Ryan & Deci, 2000) Our responsibility is to ensure that every child feels competent and connected to the musical goal they desire.
Their Future
We know that not every child will pursue music as their career, but we believe in the cognitive benefits that music education possesses. Music education at a young age can improve your child’s spatial reasoning abilities, motor coordination and problem-solving techniques. Whether you have an aspiring engineer, doctor or policeman; the benefits of music education will improve the quality of life of your child and those around him/her.
Recently, I've brought my 2.5 years old daughter to SmallGiant Music School and have some thrilling... experiences. She was introduced to different musical instruments such as piano, drums, triangle, castanet, xylophone, shaker and many more. I can see that she was attracted more to piano, shaker and castanet. Although she was easily distracted, teacher Cervone was patience to grab her attention back to the lesson.I like how they incorporate story and nursery rhymes into the lesson which makes it more fun and engaging. they also use a good method to engage her to play the piano, such as placing an animal figurine and ask her to follow it while pressing the notes. it was a nice and rewarding experience.read more

My 2 year old enjoys music very much and takes quite some time to warm up. Teacher Lynette is very... encouraging and patient with my girl.At every class my girl is introduced to different percussion instruments besides the piano. I was not aware of the other skills besides rhythm and scale which my girl will learn. She also experienced beat keeping, harmony, leading etc. which are taught using percussion instruments.Teacher Lynette tailors the lessons for my girl. Besides the usual children songs, Teacher Lynette played Baby Shark and also my girl's favorite Peppa Pig! She guides my girl's discovery and interests too. Each lesson starts with a song to warm up, followed by activities with some percussion instruments. Also there is storytelling in relation to numbers and alphabets of the music scale followed by a session with the piano and each lesson ends with a song!I sat through the classes with my girl and I enjoyed watching her play the different percussion instruments. Initially I had doubts about my girl being able to sit through the lessons as she is only 2 years old but I am amazed with how Small Giant Music engages my girl during lessons, helps keep her focus and guide her interests. If you are looking to introduce music and musical instruments to your child, I highly recommend Small Giant Music!read more

My 4yo boy did a trial with a couple of private piano teachers but never went past the 5-minute... mark. We’re so happy to have found teacher Shane from SmallGiant music. His approach is not the conventional one. He makes it really fun and engaging for my child and knows exactly what to do to get his 100% focus for the full lesson.I was also extremely impressed by how there was an essay-like lesson plan sent to us after we did our first trial. The lesson plan includes the comments on my son’s strengths, the learning/focus areas, and goals to be achieved. If you’re thinking of starting your kids early on their piano/music learning journey. I highly recommend this one!read more
My twins enjoyed meeting him every week for their lessons. They even ask me for permission to show... him their latest “toys”. As all students can attest, learning best takes place when there is a joy in learning, and not for grades or certs, and this will certainly help my kids enjoy music as they grow up. Highly recommended teacher.read more
I am simply amazed by how much SmallGiant Music has cultivated a love for music in my young 3... year-old daughter. In her short journey as a student of SmallGiant Music for the past few months, she had progressed from knowing nothing of what a piano can do, to being able to play keys on the piano by sight reading. She has also learned to be able to keep rhythm with simple songs and honed her pitch to keep tune with the songs she like! Music became a holistic education for her. In class, she learnt counting, reading alphabets, identifying colours, increasing pitch awareness and playing on the piano. Most importantly, she looks forward to her music lessons, and displayed delightful enjoyment in wanting to learn more. This was only made possible by Shane’s patient teaching and specially curated music curriculum. Before my daughter started with SmallGiant music, my wife and I were unable to get her to sit and play properly at the piano. But Shane was not only able to engage her attention in doing different tasks that helped her develop her music literacy, he was able to get her to follow instructions to play the piano by sight reading. And today, she had begun playing on the piano with both hands!SmallGiant Music’s teaching curriculum and teaching methods have been thoughtfully developed by Shane to not just allow music to be learned, but also to be loved. I highly recommend SmallGiant Music to anyone who wishes to learn the piano across all age groups, especially for young children who have immense untapped potential that I believe SmallGiant Music can help realise.read more
